Amino acid variation

Spike is a trimer, made up of the three same chains. The binding fragment of Spike protein with its receptor ACE2 is the residues:336-516.

Based on the published sequence of high quality strains, there were 3724 mutations in S protein, among which 2797 mutations caused amino acid changes, 416 amino acids located in the protein receptor binding region (RBD), and 41 amino acids with non-synonymous mutations among the 17 key amino acids reported in the protein interaction. The information is shown in the following table.
